PediTree Database Skeletons

Murray has provided us with a set of his skeleton (i.e. with no data
yet entered) database directories. Each .zip file contains the files to
recreate one of Murray's directories. The filenames also include
Murray's version number for each database - representing the year and the month

Users of Pedigree for DOS who want to save trees and then convert them to
Word-processor documents need a suitable font that has the box-drawing characters. Such a font is not
normally installed.

Two suitable fonts have been identified:

This started as a comment about the standard (yellow) PediTree icon
being rather too light for use on a very light coloured desktop.

Malcolm downloaded CoffeeCup Software's Free Icon Studio (but this is no
longer available) and created these two offerings:

Newsletter Indexes

We thank Paul Joiner for his efforts in indexing the PUG Newsletter.

We have available single volume indexes for all fourteen volumes completed to date (June 2006).
The files are all supplied as Rich Text (.rtf) which should import happily into most
word processors while still preserving Paul's layout.
The files will import into the Windows WordPad utility but in this case only as
a single column whereas, for instance, Word preserves Paul's two column layout.

PUGweb sample database

Introduction

The idea behind the database is to have enough realistic records to show a wide variety of family circumstances over several generations, and sufficient to produce fully populated trees and reports. The Royalty database is designed to accompany the Peditree tutorial and the details held are not typical of more ordinary families. The Elton databases provided by Murray hold very few records with incomplete data; their purpose is to make available the most rece…
