Essential Items for PediTree
Here is a list of the items that are needed in the folder c:\pedigree when you are using PediTree.
The program
- peditree.exe – the program.
- peditree.chm – built-in help.
- db32.dll – database access.
- ped32.dll – picture script handling.
- pedigree.enc – your registration, supplied separately by Murray.
- peditree.css – styles for Web pages generated by Web output.
- peditree.ini – options, maintained through PediTree.
Supporting Items
- Folder Elton55.ped – Sample database design, basis for your own databases.
- Elton55.exe – program to re-create folder Elton55.ped, if needed.
Optional files
- plac.lst – a place pick-list, which can be created from your own places by using List > Place piclist.
- *.gia – GEDCOM import action files, supplied with PediTree and/or saved by the user.
- for example, BK_Elton55v3.gia, (GEDCOM Import rules from Brothers Keeper) supplied with last PediTree update.
- *.wop – Web Output parameter files, saved by the user.
- *.csa – CSV import action files, saved by the user.
Other Files
For Pedigree for DOS
This program cannot be used directly in 64-bit Windows systems; see here for the details. if you wish, these are the relevant files to keep:-
- PEDIGREE.EXE
- DPMI16BI.OVL
- RTM.EXE
- UTILS.EXE
- *.conf – configuration files
Obsolete Files
These do not run in 64-bit Windows systems, so may be removed.
